Protein content ranged from 23.7% to 31.9% for 2009 western Canada lentils, including green and red lentils. The average protein content for 2009 was 27.1%, which was similar to the 2008 average of 27.9% and the five-year average of 27.2%. Grade level and province did not show much variation of protein content.
