Certification of food safety and identity-preserved quality management systems for grain

Programs

The Canadian Grain Commission provides certification of identity-preserved and food safety quality management systems in grain companies. Certification is provided through the Process Verification and Accreditation Office. As part of this service, the Canadian Grain Commission authorizes third-party audit companies to verify that a grain company’s identity preserved and/or food safety system meets the requirements of the Canadian Grain Commission’s Food Safety and Identity Preserved Quality Management System Standard (FSIP Standard). The Standard outlines the requirements of 3 programs:

  1. Canadian Identity Preserved Recognition System (CIPRS)
  2. Canadian Grain Commission Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (CGC HACCP)
  3. Canadian Identity Preserved Recognition System plus Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (CIPRS + HACCP)

Participation in any of these programs is voluntary.
