Quality of western Canadian peas 2013

Production review

Pea production for 2013 was estimated to be 3.8 million tonnes, which was up approximately 36% from 2012 and higher than the 10-year average. The increase in production was the result of a 32% increase in yield from 2012. Saskatchewan accounted for 62% of Canadian pea production, while Alberta and Manitoba accounted for 36% and 2%, respectively.
